The promotional gift market is bracing for yet another rise in the cotton trade market which will no doubt have an effect on end user prices.  Brands such as Fruit of the Loom and Gildan are forced to increase their prices yet again after taking a hit on raw materials. 

The rises are largely connected to flooding disasters in North Eastern China and Pakistan which have pushed the price of cotton to rocket up in recent weeks by more than 700 per cent.  Floods have destroyed over 4.25 million acres, affecting an estimated 25per cent of the cotton crop.  Cotton prices are said to be at their highest levels since 1995.  Read more...
